Vicki Macleod
has specialised in enabling and evaluating learning and performance
all her working life.
She has many years' experience of guiding
work-based learning in organisational settings, with a
successful track record of helping people and organisations achieve
the results they desire.
Her work for clients in the private and public
sectors has included:
- designing and delivering university-accredited
management development programmes
- helping organisations establish mentoring and
coaching schemes
- coaching managers and teams
- leading commercial research and evaluation activities
- providing consultancy on personal and management
development.
A prime motivation is to encourage and enable learning,
and help organisations build a learning culture.
Vicki co-founded Performance By Design in 1998.
Previously she led the design and delivery of the MA Learning in
Organisations at the University of Brighton (1995-8), and worked on
management development with a range of organisations.
Her background is in psychology (BSc, University of
Bristol), African studies (MA, University of London), education (PGCE and
Post-Graduate Certificate in
Learning in Higher Education) and management learning.
Vicki's recent work includes:
- consultancy on setting
corporate mentoring in a
multinational
- evaluation of learning
programmes for companies in manufacturing and IT.
- co-developing
Limbering Up
For Learning, an innovative programme for personal learning and
development
- facilitating workshops on becoming a learning
organisation, for the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development
(CIPD)
- research into HR consultancy skills on behalf of the
CIPD
- evaluating Kaizen events for a global drinks
manufacturer
- evaluating coaching skills and facilitation skills
workshops for Stretch Learning
- designing and implementing an Institute of Management
accredited management development programme for The Body Shop
International
- authoring an internet-based course on performance
management for the University of Surrey, and providing on-line
tutoring
- research into how
using the internet helps professional learning on behalf of the
Interprofessional CPD Forum and the DfEE
- supporting the implementation of new performance
management processes for schools and headteachers nationally.
Her wider experience of work-based learning and
assessment includes delivery of Management NVQs at Levels 4 and 5, and
Training and Development NVQs at Levels 3 and 4.
From 1990 to 1995, Vicki was adviser for vocational and
special education in Surrey with the Department of Employment sponsored
Technical and Vocational Education Initiative.
Vicki's other interests include swimming, cycling, reading, ballet, and walking by the river.
